Union City's 5th Grade students who participated in the NJPAC partnership Ballroom Dancing program known as "Colors of the Rainbow" had their first round of competition this Thursday at Colin Powell School.
The Silver Level Medalist winners Veteran's Memorial School, Robert Waters School, and Roosevelt School.
The Gold Level Medalist, who will now compete in Newark on June 8th are Thomas Edison School, Washington School, and Colin Powell School who will now advance to Finals.
Thank you to all the teachers, parent, administrators and teaching artists in attendance.
Special thank you to Mrs. Silvia Abbato, Superintendent of Schools and Mrs. Mirtha Serret, Supervisor of Performing and Visual Arts for making these programs a possibility in our schools.
Congratulations to all the Ballroom Dancers for displaying great sportsmanship, grace, and reminding us how dancing can be fun.
